MY ROLE

I worked as a solo designer with the development team consisting of four developers within the company. I worked hand to hand with the CEO and the Marketing team during the strategy phase

TIME TO DELIVER

6 Months

THE PROBLEM

Adbibo users had difficulties to completing some important actions:

  • The user needed to spend high time managing campaigns
  • The tool wasn't visually appealing, neither consistent
  • the other Marketing managing players were gaining market share agains them

THE CHALLENGE

  • Ensuring a cohesive and industry-compliant user experience through the implementation of consistent design standards
  • Ensuring a cohesive and industry-compliant user experience through the implementation of consistent design standards
  • Striving for visual simplicity and elegance through the use of an aesthetic and minimalist design philosophy to improve overall user satisfaction

Design process

DISCOVERY

We began the project by interviewing the organization's stakeholders. Afterwards, we interviewed 5 current Adbibo users to learn what functionalities they valued most and to define our value proposition. We also analyzed the competition to identify opportunities for our software. This analysis focused on the most outstanding functionalities of each competitor's software and their ease of use

INSIGHTS

During the research phase, we gathered several key insights. We found that handling data overload is easier when information is relevant and simplified, aiding decision-making. Tailor-made solutions emerged as important, with customizable tables allowing for unique client needs to be met. Additionally, report optimization was crucial, as the ability to customize reports gives users greater control and helps them gain valuable insights

DEFINITION

I made a flow map for each story, systematizing each case to outline the path users follow while using the software. This provided an overview of the software's functionalities. Next, we created dozens of paper prototypes to explore various options. Once we had the wireframes on paper, we built different versions of low-resolution prototypes for the final content. Finally, we tested the prototypes with 5 users, identifying improvements to enhance the UX. For instance, users had difficulty selecting multiple agencies quickly, which needed addressing

Look & Feel

EASY CHARGING

Starting the charging process was complicated. The new UI offers multiple ways to begin charging. Besides, it's common for drivers to encounter difficulties during charging. The new solution includes a context-based help system to assist during these critical moments.

DARK MODE

The interface was designed in Light as well as Dark mode. It was a functionality that was valued in the interviews, since dark-mode has advantages when environmental conditions are not suitable

IMPROVING ACTIVATION

A easy onboarding, the possibility to filter by services and a good customer service were key issues during the design solution

Learnings

INVOLVING STAKEHOLDERS

The CEO, our main stakeholder, was deeply involved in the research phase and understood the value it brought. This active participation was instrumental in building confidence in our approach.

THE IMPORTANCE OF GOOD DOCUMENTATION

Delivering quality documentation is invaluable to the engineering team. It bridges the gap between design and development, reducing project costs and enhancing the final result

AGILE WAY OF WORKING

We previously used a waterfall approach, which proved inefficient as it took too long to implement new features. I recommend that designers understand the cultural environment they are working in to choose the most effective methodology.
